Is there any short shot method I can take to assurewhat I am buying is legitimate?

Unfortunately, I will say "NO" becauseIve seen some very comical fakes and some very monogram canvas "superfakes" that look almost the same as the real things if you only see themfrom the outside. This can surely fool some people at the first glace. Unfortunately, I have also seen eBay auctions listed by sellers with high ratings as"guaranteed authentic" sell nothing but fakes. You might also receive a “receipt” and a LV giftbox too or even a dust bag but chances are the receipt/LV box/dust bag mightbe just a fake too or they are all real, only the bag itself is not. So, please use common sense when you shop (such as the priceis too low for a real thing) and when in doubt please dont bid! You are yourbest advocate!

Question 2:

How do I spot a fake?

Ibelieve that this is the “big” question that most buyers have in mind.Relevant info can be found on Purse forum. But I have seen some replicaswhich look authentic if you only look at them from the photos, called “mirrorimage” bags. They are really scary. Yet, they can never fool me in personsince they do not feel and smell right. And the metal and leather they useare never right. Monogram canvas has very compatible replicas but the cowhideleather and brass hardware are the main things to look at. First the leather onthe fake does not show pores. Secondly, the shape and weight of the brass hardwareare different. For those of you who shop on eBay and cannot see the bag inperson, you need to find a good seller to trust your money.

Can I trust my seller?

Somescam artists even use photos of authentic bags to advertise their fakes.Therefore, even though the photos look okay, I always advise my buyers emailthe seller prior to bidding and they can even email the previous customers ofthe seller to see if the person they are going to do business with istrustworthy or not. You should also do some research on all of the feedback the seller has received so that you can have a clear view of how the sellermanages his/her business, such as "is he/she true to her description?""Are the bags sold authentic?" "How does the seller handle theshipping?" "Is the item packed well or not..." "Does theseller ship fast?" "How does she deal with the problem when thereis one?" things like this.

How do you guarantee authenticity?

I read from some discussion board that the plastic wrapon the handles is a red flag. Is that true?

It isnot correct to take this as a method to judge the authenticity since LouisVuitton does wrap their bags with plastic to protect those fragile parts suchas leather handles and metal hardware. Some LV clerks will remove them as aservice for their customers. One of the salesperson in Paris even told methey have people responsible for removing the plastic protection down in theoffice. If you dont want them to remove it, you could simply tell them youwould rather keep the plastic wrapping. They may be able to locate one foryou in the store.

Question 6:

Why are LVs upside down on one side of the speedy bag?

LVsare upside down on one side because they used the same piece of the canvasfabric to make the body of the bag. As it rolls, the other side of the LVswill then become upside down. This does not mean that bag is not authentic.
